SignCoEDS incandescent displays require a minimal amount of maintenance due to their solid-state circuitry. Depending on the size of your system, there will be one or two fans in each module for ventilation. The fans are located in the top of each module and are controlled by a thermal switch located near each fan. The switch activates when the air temperature reaches 110 degrees Fahrenheit and turns off at 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
We recommend that you verify that the fans and switches are operating properly periodically. At this same time the fans should be cleared of any airborne debris or obstructions. Make sure that the bottom of the cabinet is clean of any debris that can plug the drain holes located in the bottom of the sign.
SignCoEDS LED displays also require a minimal amount of maintenance. The cabinet should be inspected for moisture or debris build up inside periodically. All drain holes in the cabinet should be cleared of any obstructions at this time. Inspect all circuit boards to insure that no corrosion is building up on connections or on components on the circuit board. The technician should also check all screw terminal connections to assure that they are tight, not corroded and are making good contact. A multimeter should then be used to check the DC voltage output of the power supplies. If the voltage is too high or too low a decrease in LED life may be observed. The voltage measurement should be take between "Logic Power (V+)" and "Logic Ground (V-)" on the power supply. If the voltage measurement is not correct, it can be adjusted at the power supply.
